Before I start any posting in this blog regarding to my project I would like to introduce myself and explain briefly on how actually this project going to work ..

Blind Watch: A Voice Navigation Sensor-based Wrist Watch System for Visually Impaired People
The aim of this project is to ensure a blind person movement by avoiding obstacle. The project consists of a sensor-based wrist watch and android apps. The wrist watch will be attached with a sonar sensor .
- Obstacle will be detected by sonar sensor.
- Android apps will be developed for voice guided navigation of a visually impaired person.
Sensor data will transmit to mobile phone using Bluetooth communication. The Blind Watch device system aims to be implemented on blind person without any assistance from others.The navigation will be in the voice in order to make the user(visually impaired person) easy to get the instruction .
.The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that there are 285 million visually-impaired people worldwide. Among these individuals, there are 39 million who are totally blind. There have been several systems designed to support visually-impaired people and to improve the quality of their lives thus the need for assist devices for navigation and orientation has increased.
PROBLEM STATEMENT FROM THE PREVIOUS PROJECT
What does i mean by the previous project is the normal aids that been used by visually impaired person for long time which is the blind cane .As we know there a lot of developments and innovations for these blind cane such as adding an ultrasonic sensor to that cane , navigate the user by using cane but as i go through a little bit research for this technology , it still kind of burden for the user since they still have to hold that cane and yet even though there is a navigation for them in those cane . So by developing a brand new technology which can enlighten their burden by giving them an aid that can be easily wear on their wrist and this blind-wrist band also can help them to detect obstacles and at the same navigate the destination they desired on their auditory sense (Ears) .
I hope this project going to contribute such a big help for those that visually impaired for them to have their life normally like others , That is our main OBJECTIVE . In order to achieve this objective we put aims for this project which are
- To enlighten the user by wearing a wrist-band instead of using blind stick
- to navigate the user to the desired destination by using navigation application in their mobile phone easily
- to avoid the obstacles in front of them along the way to their destination by sending the voice navigation
